HIVE

Project: Hive Stage
Location: Cork City Gaol

Brief:
Cork City Gaol was built in 1824 and closed in 1923. It’s cell block was to play host to a contemporary party with international DJ and Performance artists. We we’re approached to design and build an LED and projection mapped façade for the stage area and a lighting package for the cell block.

Outcome:
Hexagons were a shape that kept cropping up in our lives so we decided to utilise this in our design. We created a stage design that featured 8 hexagon stacked vertically between the balconies of the cells. Each hexagon was lined with 50/50 LEDs and clad with a white projection surface.
